On arrival, begin an approximately 45-minute self-guided active uphill hike to the glacier, an arm of the Jostedal Glacier, viewing gorgeous scenery including waterfalls and wildlife. Note: Guests requiring assistance on the trip up to the glacier can get a ride in one of the “troll cars” (electrical cars) at an additional cost on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Head into the waters of the Nordfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the crayfish pots. Spend approximately 45 minutes bringing up the pots, already deep in the water, to discover your catch of the day.

Take in the breathtaking views of the Jostedalen Glacier, known as the jewels of the mountain sides, as your guide discusses points of interest along the way.

Arrive at the glacial lake, speckled with ice flows, and join other Guests for a paddle-boating experience. Receive a safety briefing, rubber boots and a life jacket before boarding the boats to paddle around the lake and its ice flows for approximately an hour.

Fly above the valley, over the Briksdal Glacier and behold the spectacular sites.

The Center, established in 1989 and home to the Fjord Horse, is dedicated to development in new areas of usage, breaking and education. The Center also seeks to further the breeding of the country’s native horse, a relatively small, dun-colored horse from Western Norway. Most recently, the breed was featured in the Disney blockbuster animated film Frozen.
