Korea is rich with traditional markets packed with the ingredients to delight chefs and foodies alike. Jagalchi is Korea's largest fish market and features a stunning array of the ocean's bounty. Many varieties of both fresh and dried seafood can be purchased and cooked on site for on-the-spot enjoyment. Nearby Gukje is an international market made up of a delightful labyrinth of stall-packed streets selling everything from the freshest food to local souvenirs.

One of the most beautiful temples in Busan, its unusual location by the sea adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Expect to climb 108 steps to get a closer look at this amazing landmark, which boasts a three-story pagoda decorated with lions. Once inside, your guide will explain the legend of the Great Goddess Buddha, who lives in the sea and is said to appear on the back of a dragon.

This fascinating excursion starts with a Korean BBQ. The term Korean barbecue or Gogigui (meat roast) in Korean refers to the Korean method of roasting various types of meat and vegetable. Such dishes are often prepared at the diner's table on gas or charcoal grills that are built into the table itself. Galbi (grilled spareribs) dishes are popular in Busan. You will visit one of Korea's top five galbi restaurants. Enjoy the Korean authentic BBQ which are served with only the highest-grade beef.

This gigantic, modern jjimjilbang (Korean-style sauna/spa) is located inside the Shinsegae Centum City department store. Furnished with hot tubs, showers, Korean traditional kiln saunas and massage tables, the facility uses hot spring water with sodium bicarbonate, which is pulled up from a depth of 3,280 feet underground in its 22 different hot springs and 13 spas, each with a unique theme. Visitor favorites include a radiant heat-based Roman Sauna, which recreates the ancient roman bath using modern technology, and the traditional Finnish Sauna, which is an all-natural, Finnish-style sauna said to keep you healthy during the freezing winter months.

Housed within a lovely performance hall, a cultural performance features talented Korean dancers dressed in traditional garb. They will entertain you with traditional costumes and Korean compositions, referred to as "gugak," which translates to "national music." The show brims with authentic dances, colorful native clothing and captivating production elements.

Constructed between 1601 and 1611 by feudal lord Yamanouchi Kazutoyo, Kochi Castle is the city's most well- known landmark. Set atop Otakasa Hill, the impressive structure is the only castle in the country with its wooden interior, castle tower, and impressive entrance still intact. The "donjon," or main tower, provides celebrated, panoramic views of the whole city, making it well worth the climb to the top. Your tour will take you past the beautifully restored Tsumemon Gate that connects the second citadel of the castle to its inner sanctum, and no visit to Kochi Castle would be complete without seeing the living quarters or "honmaru," which houses local and historical treasures, and items designated as Japan's Important Cultural Properties. Back outside, stroll the castle grounds, now a popular public park, dotted with magnificent statues of the Yamanouchi family.

Designated as a National Natural Monument, Ryugado Cave set on the slopes of Mt. Sampo offers an abundance of waterfalls and the ruins of a primitive pit house from the ancient Yayoi Period (300 B.C. to 300 A.D.). Believed to date back 150 million years, this magical and mystical limestone cave is just one of the largest three of its kind in Japan. In addition to spectacular stalactites, the cave is home to animals including bats, shrimps and crabs.

Impressionist Claude Monet's deep interest in Japanese artwork and culture was reflected throughout his farmhouse in Giverny, France. And his acclaimed garden has been replicated here within a seven-acre landscape. In the Flower Garden you'll find approximately 70,000 flowers and plants that change with the seasons. The Water Garden features a taiko bridge arched over a pond, Japanese wisteria trellis, willow and bamboo trees, and a selection of water lilies. The Light Garden is based on Monet's expedition to the Mediterranean Sea and includes palm trees, olive trees and other exotic flowers and plants.

Located on the tip of the Muroto Peninsula, the park not only showcases Kochi's natural beauty, but also its fascinating geological heritage. Muroto is a subduction zone: a place where one section of the earth's crust goes below another. It's here, where Shikoku collides with the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular coastline, that new land is formed. Long ago, as the plate beneath the Pacific Ocean sank, the land was gradually lifted up by large earthquakes and the rock formations left behind are a beautiful record of how the planet is always changing. A walk on the path offers views of rock formations that were lifted up from the sea floor, subtropical vegetation and underwater caves.

Venture deep into Shikoku Island’s remote Iya Valley, a stunning region rich in natural beauty and tradition. Begin with a walk across the Kazurabashi Bridge, a 160-foot-long vine bridge suspended 45 feet above a gorge, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding forested peaks and valleys.
