The excellent cycle path network invites you to explore the sights by bike  and they come thick and fast. This short, but informative city tour starts with a drive to one of Copenhagen's symbols, the statue of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid. It was commissioned in honour of the fairytale by the founder of a Danish beer brand in 1909. Although only small in stature, the mermaid is beautifully sculpted and well worth a snapshot or two. Copenhagen's stunning waterfront and the canal district in Nyhavn comes next, home to a plethora of fashionable cafés, bars, and restaurants. Next to the harbour's many historical ships, the quarter is also known for its brightly coloured 17th- and early 18th-century buildings. Enjoy a guided walk through this lively quarter before boarding the coach again and continue your sightseeing tour of the city passing by the Christiansborg Palace, the Old Stock Exchange, Tivoli Gardens and the City Hall Square where a photo stop is scheduled. Located at the southwestern end of the pedestrian street Strøget, it is one of the large squares of the city flanked by notable buildings including the City Hall, the Politikens Hus - the headquarters of the national daily newspapers Politiken - and Industriens Hus, the headquarters of the Confederation of Danish Industry. After taking a look around the square and taking some photographs of the many sculptures, board the coach again and pass by Nørreport Station and Rosenborg Castle en route to Amalienborg Palace. Discover Copenhagen and the neighbouring town of Dragør on this enjoyable sightseeing tour, which begins with the main attractions of lovely Copenhagen, the Danish capital, with a first stop at the Little Mermaid, Copenhagen's most iconic landmark. Other places of interest include the stock exchange building and the vibrant canal-side Nyhavn district. After leaving the city, a coach will then take you on an approx. 30-minute drive to Dragør, giving you a chance to get a look at the bridge that connects Denmark with Sweden. This enjoyable excursion provides bags of fun for everyone  even if you are new to kayaking. Meet your guide at the pier, walk for 10 minutes to the kayak base  a small beach nearby  and get ready to an experience into wild nature across the waters of Eidfjord's fjord. After listening to a short briefing and being fully kitted out, board your kayak and begin to paddle. This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience the beauty and magnificence of the fjord with steep mountains, wild scenery and peaks rising all around you. At the end of your adventure, leave the kayak and walk back to the pier and then to your cruise ship.

Goats and birdlife, modern architecture and impressive power plants and bags of nature are the ingredients of this short but intensive experience. The excursion begins at Eidfjord harbour with a short safety briefing before being dressed up for the adventure. As all the sites will be viewed directly from the boat with some stops during the itinerary, weather conditions and the wind dictate the final itinerary on the day of your excursion. Take seat on the boat, prepare your camera, and let the boat driver take you to a lovely journey through nature. Subjects to be photographed may be goats coming down to the boat in Hotle, seals in the sea or on the land but also a varied birdlife, mostly seabirds. Other stops may include views from the water of the Simadalsfjord, Norway's largest power plants and the Eidfjord community, Fjordgardane Kjeåsen and Skår, Hardangerbrua and Hardangerjøkulen as well as a waterfall that almost falls on the boat.

Built on sand- and gravel moraines form the last ice Age some 8.000 years ago, Eidfjord is a small village and the starting point to your day-long nature exploration. With Voss as your destination, begin the excursion driving along the fjord, passing over Hardanger Bridge, a suspension bridge inaugurated in 2013 and whose main span is one of the longest in the world, and under some tunnels, one of which is Vallavik Tunnel, 8.1-km long and with a roundabout inside. Voss is a well-known tourist resort both summer and winter with an attractive setting near Vangsvatnet lake. You stop here for lunch in one of the many hotels before proceeding by bus to Flåm. On the way a stop is made at the Tvinde waterfall, continuing by Oppheim lake, and heading down the spectacular hairpin bends, the so-called Stalheimskleiva, the steepest road in Norway. On either side there are beautiful waterfalls: Sivle fall and Stalheim fall. Once you arrive in Flåm, swap your bus with a train, and embark the Flåmsbana (Flaamsrailway). It is one of the most interesting railways in Norway even though it is only 20 km long. The journey from Flåm, 2 m above sea level, to Myrdal, 867 m above sea level, lasts 45-55 minutes and is a great experience. The largest slope is 1: 18. A vertical drop of 867 meters on a 20 km route is unique for an ordinary railway. Along the way you will have great views of Norwegian mountain scenery with an ever-changing panorama of high mountains and cascading waterfalls. On the best vantage points the train moves slowly or stops. In Myrdal you change the train and continue with the Bergensbanen (Bergen railway) through the Grabhalstunnel and the beautiful Rauntal back to Voss. During the drive back to Eidfjord you will have a photo stop to admire the Skjervet waterfall if the train schedule allows.

When we learn that Norway's landmass consists of about 75% mountains, lakes, glaciers, approximately 22% forest, and only 3% arable land, the Hardanger fjord and the surrounding districts fully confirm this. However, no rule is without exception. In these mountains and valleys, we can also find several green pockets, among them Ulvik with its fruit growing. Characterised as "Norway's fruit garden", the Hardanger fjord lies at the edge of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau Europe's largest wilderness territory. Leave Eidfjord and drive on the Hardanger Suspension Bridge – opened in August 2013 – with a total length of 1380 meters to cross the fjord. Continue along another branch of the fjord to scenic Ulvik Village to visit Lekve Farm. Enjoy a tour of the small Hardanger Cider production facilities – a modern development from the ancient traditions of production and consumption of the Apple Cider, including taste samples from their products of Juice, Cider & Brandy. The drive back to the port concludes your cider experience.

A few hours off the ship to discover the beauty of the wild nature around Eidfjord. Board the coach, follow the river Eid, well-known for trout- and salmon fishing, pass the little village Øvre Eidfjord and enter Måbødal Valley with its towering mountain walls. The road goes through some long tunnels but also provides you with partial views of the old road and the beautiful stone bridges built in by-gone days. After climbing up to 750 metres above sea level, we discover Hardangervidda, the largest mountain plateau in Europe, most of it situated at more than 1200 m and a national park where vegetation and wildlife is protected. We continue to the Sysendam being one of the 4 dams supplying the nearby Sima Hydro-electric Plant with necessary water. Have a walk on the dam and, at certain times of the year, you may be able to have a view of the Hardangerjøkulen Glacier. Returning along the same road, we reach our next destination: Fossli Hotel where coffee and pastries will be served. In front of the hotel a path leads down to a viewing platform from where one can enjoy the sight of the Vøring waterfall which cascades down into a deep canyon almost 600 ft./182 mt. below. Then, it is time to return via the same road down to Eidfjord and your waiting ship.

This walking experience is to what is know in Norway as "birch gardens" on the Hereid Terrace and a plunge into quiet landscape and nature. Walking along partly paved and gravelled roads, farm tracks and paths, you reach the Hareid Terrace, built up by sand and gravel deposited by the retreating arm of the glacier. The top of the terrace is almost flat. On one side the terrace slopes towards the lake, on two sides it steeply descends towards the fjord and the river and on the fourth side it is framed by the mountain. There are 7 small farms on the plateau and the area looks like a park: among the spaced plantings of birch trees the scattered remains of an iron age burial site with approx. 350 mounds and cairns can be found. The site has not yet been fully excavated and the 9 catalogued finds dated from approx. 500 to 1000 AD are kept in the Historical Museum in Bergen. The walk downhill, passing a housing estate on the hillside, ends the excursion.

This half-day excursion promises to give fun, culture, and enchanting scenery to everyone. With Hardangervidda Nature Centre as your destination, your tour begins with a drive along river Eid to the far end of the Upper Eidfjord Lake. Conceived as the most modern experience centre in Norway to present Norwegian nature, environment and climate, the centre features lively exhibitions, hands-on activities and pioneering technological and visual effects. One of the highlights in the centre is a 5-screen panoramic movie where you can take off on a journey past fjords, mountains, and waterfalls. An experience not to miss: high mountains and deep fjords with hair raising drops over steep gorges and gentle sequences over mountain lakes and glaciers. Leaving the Centre behind, board the coach and drive into Måbødal Valley with its towering mountain walls. Even though the road goes mainly through long tunnels, you can sometimes spot the old road and the beautiful stone-bridges built in by-gone days here and there. Take the camera ready for the last part of the excursion as you turn off from the main road towards Fossli hotel perched high above the Måbø gorge and walk down to the viewpoint in front of the hotel to admire the Vøring waterfall tumbling nearly 600 ft. to the valley-floor. Then, sit back in your coach and enjoy the drive back to the ship.

The attractive city of Oslo is Norway's capital and looks back on a rich history going right back to its foundation by King Harald III c. 1048. This culture-based tour begins with a drive-by look at Oslo's main landmarks in the city centre, which certainly include the Royal Palace, on your way to Frogner Park. Covering an area of some 45 hectares, this super-sized city park also hosts a fabulous collection of art in the so-called "Vigeland Sculpture Arrangement". This exhibition of sculptural art comprises the lifework of the famous Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland, and is made up of more than 150 works that represent the full range of the human condition - from birth to death. Vigeland lived from 1869 to 1943 and is also known for having designed the medal that is awarded to winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. The tour then continues on to the nearby Bygdøy peninsula for a first stop at the fascinating Fram Museum, whose highlight is undoubtedly the impressive Fram ship, one of the hugest wooden ships in the world. Its expedition to the South Pole, which brought its team worldwide fame, is memorable. During your visit to the Museum, you can go on board the ship, visit the cabins, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the polar expeditions; information is available in several languages thanks to an interesting film. To give an extra Arctic touch to the visit, don't miss the route on an ice corridor. To round out your Oslo experience, you will also pay a visit to the Kon-Tiki Museum for a look at the famous balsa-wood raft that the legendary Norwegian explorer and zoologist Thor Heyerdahl used to cross the Pacific Ocean in 1969 as well as the reed vessel Heyerdahl used on his Ra II expedition. This maritime experience ends with your return to the port and your ship.

Situated at the mouth of the River Warnow and founded in the year 1195, the Baltic resort of Warnemünde presents visitors with an appealingly quaint townscape - one that this tour gives you a chance to explore on foot. After leaving the ship and meeting your guide, you'll set off on a roughly 2-hour walk around town. The route will take you down the promenade alongside the Alter Strom - literally Old Stream - harbour entrance, complete with moored fishing boats and yachts, old houses that fishing folk call home, cafés and a lighthouse dating back to 1897. Your guide will provide you with interesting information on the history of the lovely old town as you stroll towards a building simply called the Kurhaus - the spa building - which was built in Art Deco style and completed in 1928 according to plans already drawn up in 1898. Once you've returned to the Alter Strom, you can choose whether to stay and do some shopping or whether to return straight to the ship.

Promising to deliver the best of Berlin, this all-day tour begins with an approx 3-hour scenic coach drive through northern Germany to meet your guide in the big city. The tour will then take you to Charlottenburg Palace for a short photo stop and admire the vast complex in Baroque-/Rococo-style that dates back to the late 17th-/early 18th-centuries. After a chance to take some photos, you will move on through the west of Berlin, driving down Kurfürstendamm, then passing the 19th-century Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the KaDeWe, Germany's largest department store. As you head for East Berlin, the route will take you past the 19th-century Victory Column and Potsdamer Platz before you will have approx. 1-hour free time to explore the area around the Brandenburg Gate or to have lunch on your own. During the communist era, this was the site of the terrifying "death strip", but now freed of this oppressive spectre, the area welcomes visitors with the German Reichstag building on the one and the lovely Unter den Linden boulevard on the other side. Re-connect with your guide at the nearby Holocaust Memorial before heading for East Berlin, passing Bebelplatz, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie  an iconic reminder of the former political division. The excursion will also give you chance to take a look at what is left of the Berlin Wall before heading back to Warnemünde and to your ship.

Make the most of your call in Warnemünde and spend half a day exploring the gorgeous old Hanseatic city of Rostock. Accompanied by your guide you will board a boat in Warnemünde for an enjoyable 1-hour cruise along the river with some nice chances to take photos for your memory book. You will arrive in Rostock to start an approx. 1.5-hour walking tour that will introduce you to the city and its gabled, brick-fronted houses and main landmarks. After a chance to visit the 13th-century Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Mary, Rostock's largest and most important, you'll move on to the Kröpeliner Gate, built around 1900, the 13th-century city hall, Rostock University, founded in 1419, and the 13th-century Monastery of the Holy Cross. The tour concludes with the journey back to Warnemünde and your waiting ship.

Your tour begins with a 2-hour coach drive through north Germany's bucolic countryside to Lübeck where you will meet your guide.
